Support for the Edmonton Ski Club
For over 100 years, the Edmonton Ski Club has provided individuals and families affordable outdoor recreation opportunities in Edmonton’s beautiful river valley. With news surfacing that the future of this ski hill was in jeopardy, the province and the city were able to come together to ensure that their lease with the city was able to continue and to address the issues that had led to the club's initial decision to close for the season. Our government has granted $600,000 over three years to the club, which will mean better facilities and a more secure future.
The grant money will be help to address infrastructure issues and enhance the day to day operations of the hill. This includes but is not limited to a refurbished T-Bar and new features that will assist beginning level skiers. The new and improved Edmonton Ski Club will provide full time hours next season so that families can continue to enjoy the fun recreational activities that the winter season brings. It is my hope that the Edmonton Ski Hill will continue to be a pillar of our community for many years to come.
