MLA for a Day 2018
This year Mr. Speaker’s MLA for a Day youth conference will take place Sunday, May 6 to Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at the Legislature Building in Edmonton.
As of right now no students from the Edmonton-Gold Bar constituency have registered for this conference.
The goal is for politically engaged students to experience the dynamic environment of the Legislative Assembly while developing a greater understanding and awareness of the roles and responsibilities of an MLA. This also serves as a great opportunity to have high school students connect with one another as well as with their representatives.
If any high school student is interested, please have them complete an application form and include a brief written submission expressing their interest. The deadline is March 23, 2018.
Additional program information and application forms can be found on the Assembly website at:
Thank you to everyone who came out to join me on Friday night (despite playoff hockey) for my town hall on the topic of Energy Efficiency. I know I learned some new things from our wonderful guest speakers and I hope you did too. For those of you who weren't able to make it, stay tuned for some video clips of the event. I hope to have those available to share later this week.
